About Project
Website for Hotel Ukraine — a four-star property in the very heart of Kyiv, adjacent to Independence Square. The site covers the full guest journey: room categories, restaurant and banquet halls, conference facilities, and online booking. Special attention was given to safety communication following wartime infrastructure additions.
Migration
How do you move a hotel website to a new platform without disrupting guests?
We kept the existing design unchanged and rebuilt everything underneath on Django: guests see the familiar website, while the platform became more reliable and secure.
Challenge
Hotel Ukraine is a four-star landmark hotel on Independence Square in Kyiv, with rooms, restaurants, banquet halls and conference facilities. Its website ran on WordPress, and the hotel came to us to make it more secure. The task was to move the website to a more reliable platform without changing the design that guests and staff already knew.
Solution
We rewrote the whole website on Django and kept the existing design unchanged, so for guests the move was seamless. Instead of third-party plugins, all functionality is now our own code with a custom admin panel for rooms, special offers, restaurants, banquet and conference halls. Online booking runs on the Rooms Wizard booking engine: we integrated it into the website and adapted the booking forms on the room pages to it, so guests choose dates and a room right where they read about it.

Result
Since the move to Django in 2019, the website has been developed and supported by our team — more than seven years of continuous work, with no dependence on WordPress plugins and their vulnerabilities. It remains the hotel's official direct-booking channel.
